| My first homebrew... | Depends on what you would consider first homebrew. I started when my parents got me a Mr. Beer kit and some different recipes for it for Christmas. As can be expected most of them didn't turn out all that great but were drinkable to a frat boy used to Natty Light. My first "real" brew was a dry stout made from extract with a pseudo mash. |

| Why I homebrew... | Price and selection were the original starters. Despite the fact that Vermont seems to be great microbrew territory the selection besides that and BMC is pretty limited. Since discovering how amazing cooking can be, brewing is a ridiculous extension of the science and art that is involved in cooking, and being a very concrete engineer any combination of the two is about as artistic as I get. |
