Recipe Details
Tasting Notes Though still young at this time, this Wee Heavy has strong malt flavour complimented by the caramel flavour given by its long boil and the oaky flavour of the oak cubes.

Procedure OK let me start off by saying that I made a mistake when I made this batch, I selected BIAB on my software instead of my turkey fryer profile so numbers are way off. Mashed at 155F. Runnings were at 1.043 (way too low as 6.1 gal of wort was collected). I boiled for 3 hours to reduce the 6.1 gal to 2.5 gal. In a way the beer benefited from this as it was well caramelized. Uses a 2L starter as per calculator used. Total volume was then 3gal at a SG 1.089 After 4 weeks in primary I added 1.5 oz of oak cubes that I had soaked in scotch. Kept the beer on the cubes but 2 weeks then bottled.
