Description
This was first attempt at an all grain beer. I have made it 3 times now and it has turned out great each time. Most of my friends ask for this one when they come over. It pours black with a moderate-sized creamy head maybe a little more than typical. The aroma has some sweet roasted malts, along with grain and a hint of hops.

Yeast 1 Pkgs English Ale Safale S-04 Dry Ale Yeast (75% app. attenuation)
Primary Fermentation 1 week in plastic
Secondary Fermentation 1 week in plastic after adding maple syrup

Procedure Mash 5 gal 60 minutes @ 156 F Strike with 3 gal at 170 F to get pre-boil volume of 6 to 6.5 gal. 1 week fermentation in Plastic, then I added 12 oz of pure maple syrup boiled with 2 cups of water and then fermented it for another week. When I bottled it with 1 cup of Raw sugar added to 2 cups of water and boiled for 10 min and let cool before adding it to the bottling bucket before bottling. A buddy of mine was growing his own hops and gave me some, so I added 6 to 8 whole Chinook hops to the boil with 15 min left.
