A Great Clone Of One Of My Favorite Beers. Slightly darker than Fat Tire, same great smooth taste.

Recipe Details
Tasting Notes A great medium bodied tasty recipe. Great color, small head with nice clarity. Loads of toasty, biscuity goodness on the finish. Hint of sweetness with a balance of hop flavor and aroma.
Awards It's a winner in my book.
Boil Volume 3.00 gallons
Boil Time 60 minutes
Batch Size 2.50 gallons
Yeast SafAle US-05 (Rehydrated) (75% app. attenuation)
Primary Fermentation Plastic Carboy 2 Weeks.
Secondary Fermentation
Other Fermentation
Procedure Mash at 153 for 60 min. Scale up to your recipe size in mind and adjust for your process and effeciency. This is a 2.5 Gal batch after the boil. I end up with 2-2.25 Gal in my fermenter. Shoot for 1.052-1.054 OG and 25-ish IBU. Pitch at or near 66 degrees and ferment at the same. Carb to a milder 2.4-2.7 volumes of Co2. This is a pretty dead on clone, if you want more head and retention, maybe a bit more creaminess/fuller mouthfeel I would suggest a tiny addition of Carapils. To bump this up for more of the "homebrewer" in all of us, some dry hopping would also be great. But as is...it's intended as a clone. Also remember to let this warm as you drink it...it's not something to drink Ice Cold.
