Procedure This beer has a slightly higher IBU than the calculator says because you are not adding half the corn sugar until after the boil, so more of the hop bitterness will come through due to lower boil volume. Also, it'll be darker than it says a little, because the extremely long boil time will help caramelize the sugar a little, which adds a little more flavor too. If you wanted you could boil at 3 gallons and put it all in before the boil, but this is easier.
