Description
Starting gravity acually came in at 1.082. I'm wondering if my LHBS gave me more extract than I asked for, but I fermented with one smack pack of yeast which was healthy and only a month old so I know it definitely had a high OG because it finished at 1.020. Had the OG been lower, it would have finished much lower. Very good beer though!

Recipe Details
Tasting Notes Tasted while bottling and it was amazing. The Vanilla is noticable, but it doesn't drown out the chocolate and malt flavor. I can't wait to pop open the first bottle. The bourbon is very faint in the taste. As soon as you realize what it is, it's gone which is what I was looking for. Just a hint.

Procedure Steeped grains in 150 f water for 30 minutes, removed grains and added extract, boiled and hoped per schedule. I soaked two split and diced vanilla beans in 1/2 cup of small batch bourbon for 24 hours, then added the beans and bourbon to the secondary for 21 days.
