Procedure Toast 1 lb pale ale barley malt in oven by spreading ground grain on baking sheet at 350 for about 18-25 min based on your desired toastiness. You will get a bonus house aroma for no extra charge! I have done this prior by toasting the grain and then grinding it. This worked great, but waiting for the grain to cool a bit before grinding was time lost.
