Description
I wanted to see what the Fermentis saflager-23 would do at an elevated temperature (62), and I guess I found out. Since I wanted to add the majority of the extract late, I added some 2-row with my crystal 60 to steep at 155.

Tasting Notes Balanced floral and fruit aroma with a hint of caramel. Medium body, light amber color with a characteristic liberty hop floral/spice bight at the finish

Procedure 3 gals water plus 1T Burton water salts (half the recommended amount to mimic their water), 2-row and Crystal steeped at 155 for 30 minutes. Add DME and NB hops boiled for 20 minutes, then added LME. Sterling at 30 minutes, Irish moss at 45, Amarillo at 60 with heat off. Pitched at 68.
