17A. Wheat Beer, Bavarian Weizen
Description
I have brewed this Bavarian Weizen five times now and it has been a crowd favorite. It is a simple refreshing beer with very mild hop bitterness and a lasting creamy head when poured. It is very easy to drink.

Procedure This recipe uses a 60 minute mash and a 45 minute boil. Rice hulls can be used by brewer's choice to keep the run off going, I use 0.5 lbs. Hops are added for bittering only and boiled for 35 minutes - this beer should taste more of the banana, clove, pepper than hops. I keg this and force carbonate at 65 degrees and 25 psi for two days.
