Recipe Details
Tasting Notes Great balance between the bitterness and maltness in this beer.
Awards Blue Ribbon Lane County Fair (actually a under hopped version...don't ask)
Boil Volume 7.00 gallons
Boil Time 90 minutes
Batch Size 5.50 gallons
Yeast WLP001 (75% app. attenuation)
Primary Fermentation Glass carboy 7 days
Secondary Fermentation Glass carboy 4 days
Other Fermentation
Procedure Mash grains at 152/153F for an hour. This reciepe was made with a single infusion mash, batch sparged cooler style. Boil to gravity as specified for recipe. 1.070. A full 90 minute boil will give a higher gravity. It is good, but changes the balance of hop bitterness vs malty sweetness. I add 30 min hop addition once gravity reaches approx 1.066/67. Then time out from there for 30 minutes.
