Description
An oatmeal cream stout with vanilla extract added. Named for the birth of my nephew and will be ready just in time for his birth.

Recipe Details
Tasting Notes Everything blends very well together. Nothing sticks out more than anything else. Typical stout flavors right at the front with the creaminess and sweetness of the lactose and familiar oatmeal texture and taste, dark malt bitterness at the back end, vanilla doesn't stand out too boldly, but it's there.

Procedure Steep grains at about 155 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Note that my grain bag wasn't big enough, so I used two. After steeping bring up to a boil and add the extract. Bring back to a boil and add the bittering hops, After 30 minutes, add aroma hops. 10 minutes before flame out, add the pound of lactose and vanilla. You should use a glass carboy, but if you're carboy doesn't have any measurement markings, go for a bucket with those markings, first. Top off to the 5 gallon line of bucket and rack it to the carboy.
