I broke one of my glass carboys while cleaning it recently, so now I'm in the market for a new fermenter. Has anyone had any experience with these plastic conicals?

I'd be interested to hear any positive or negative comments...

Plastic? Plastics scratches. Those scratches leave a place for BACTERIA to grow. Glass doesn't.

I haven't used those plastic conicals so I cannot speak to that specifically.

But I haven't had a problem to date with bacteria growing in a plastic bucket.

Knock on wood...errrr...plastic.

I've used plastic for years and never had a problem. There's no reason to scratch it if you clean it carefully and even if you do, good sanitation makes it not an issue. However, the Fast Ferment has been noted to have other problems. Many people have trouble dropping the yeast from it. Do some careful research on several forums before deciding one way or the other.
