Hey all -
I'm having a hell of a time with my new burner. I should premise this with a caveat that I live in Mexico and it is a fairly simple burner (two valves: one for the inner ring, one for the outer) connected to a 5-gallon LP tank (that I refilled yesterday) with fifteen feet of hose.

My problem is that there is almost NO pressure coming out of the burners and, when I am able to light them, the flame is so small that it wouldn't give a flea a sunburn. Any ideas as to what is wrong?

Is the regulator new?

Yep. Its a fairly simple one -- gray disc with hose fittings.

I had bugs build a nest in my burner. Be sure the orfices
are clean, there might be machining metal shavings in there.
Gray disc? I think mine is red. Is there a color code for high
pressure vs low pressure regulators? Getting a good volume
of gas out of the hose when its disconnected from the burner?

Hmm... haven't checked yet.

So you think it might be that the regulator is geared for low pressure?

I found several low pressure regulators that are described
as being good for up to 200,000 BTU. One high pressure reg
was for 2Million BTU. I don't think its low/high pressure
regulator issue.

Sounds like the wrong regulator to me, but I'm no expert on these things. But it sounds ike the symptoms I've heard described when using a low pressure regulator where a high pressure one is needed.

Great! Thanks. This is much better than having to get a new burner.

I'll let y'all know if it works or not.

Red is high pressure, blue is low pressure.

That explains the cans of "Just for Men" I found in your trash whilst looking for ways to improve my efficiency...
