I bought a few ozs of these and was wondering if anyone had anything
bad to say about them, like could I use them to dry hop or FWH for eg.
Any down side to this hop. Never used them before.
Any comments
Thanks,
Matt
Seems like a silly question but you never know.

Sterling has quickly found its way in to a bunch of batches at my house (including a single hop lager, but APAs mostly.) People say it's a good saaz replacement, and I wouldn't disagree. My single hop lager with Budejovice yeast came out damn fine if I do say so myself. However, I think there's a small yet distinct citrusy/floral undertone that makes sterling unique.
As for downside, well, I guess that's a matter of opinion mostly. My main complaint is that my first year Sterling plant has been slow to develop so far.

Thanks guys,
Gonna do a single hop lager first thing, like aways, to see what there like.
Knew theys gonna be 'Saaz like' but the AA% is 6.0 so my brian started perculatin'.
I'm thinkin' of doin' 70-75 OG beer and puttin' it on that Kolsch II 2575 cake, IBU to
'bout 35-40(30-35) and finishing with Sterling. Both those will be 90% or so Pils and
some...some....whatever. Some wheat or munich. who knows come brew day but the
lager will be a small(normal OG 50) beer so is to see what th' hops are like.
Thanks again

I have some of these and I am thinking about using them as my bittering/FWH for a blonde and finishing with willamette........mine are 7.8% aa from freshhops. Looking at a 1.051 with about 23 IBU's
Changing the mid addition to a FWH'ing
