I would like to say thanks to Rob H for providing a platform for those of us with the 'Big Obsession' to discuss it and other things. With Independence day just around the corner I realized just how fortunate we really are. The Internet and forums wouldn't exist without FOS. Thoughts?

Jeff seems to sum it up best with "free speech=good beer" but let me add that in addition to Amendment #1, I'm also thankful for 2 (felt a need to mention this one since the recent Supreme Court clarification),4 and, of course, #21!
Happy 4th, one and all.

Number 2 keeps getting challenged. Fortunately, there are still some judges that can think straight.
Must have been important or it wouldn't have been second.

personally, i would like to thank Jimmy Carter for signing into law a specific allowance for home beer making.
also.. the 1st amendment is great, but it really has nothing to do with brewing beer, and the only real place it gets involved with the internet is with the press, political speech, and porn.
we should celebrate the passing of the 21st amendment, and pay close attention to the dangers of special interest groups like the one that brought us the 18th amendment.

Just as an observation, there is no such thing as free speech on an Internet message board.
If you don't follow the terms, conditions, rules, etc. you agree to when registering, you're kicked out.
That being said, happy July 4th everyone!

The constitution and the bill of rights are the most precious thing You possess!
Guard them well because once they are gone life will never be the same again!
'It would be a lot easier in a dictatorship as long as I was the dictator'
We all know who said that 'don't We?'
Have a good 4th of July

By the way, the gov't has recently been considering banning the freedom of speech. Studies have recently show that ones persons freedom of speech can cause aggravation/fustration in others, to the point that it has increased the risk of heart attack in the easily offendable. Oh, recent press release they have decided against the banning of freedom of speech, they are going with an asterisk and the warning, that "clinical studies have shown that freedom of speech or the exposure to freedom of speech from people that you disagree with can increase the risk of heart attack". Sorry, still recovering from my trip to Canada and over exposure to over taxation and stupid brewpub laws for family's with children, also wife got me a bottle of Johnny Walker Black Label for our anniversary today.
