Aging will mellow the Bastard so drink it young if you want to prove your worth.
This recipe was compiled from various sources of AB clones. |

This is intended to be modeled after Stone Brewing's Arrogant Bastard Ale. I've heard Stone doesn't use Cascades in any of their brews. (Source: HBD Digest, Ray Daniels) |

I Have made this recipe about 5 times now. It is definately one of my favorites. I converted the recipe to extract/specialty grain recipe by using 8.6 pounds of LME. Drinking this brew very young will give you a close taste of AB but after about 3 weeks it blends to an excellent brown ale that is very tasty. My friend an I drink this beer alot. I'd highly recommend using this recipe!!! |

LME stands for light malt extract. Can be found at brew shops in 3.3 , 4, or 33 pound containers. I use Muntons. Later

Rich |

I'm off to my brewstore right now to get the ingredients for this recipe. I've been drinking Stone Brews for years, before they got popular (A bottle of Arrogant bastard used to cost $1.50!). Since Stone is my favoite Brewery, I have high hopes for this brew. I'll post my results After I'm done. I will perform a secondary fermentation for visual appeal; a truly Arrogant Bastard must look better than those below him (I would say peers but there are none worthy to deserve such a title). |

I think beer smith can be kind of funny, make sure you have it set to mash and not steep. |
