Ingredients
  • 6 lbs light malt extract
  • 1/3 lb U.S. Crystal malt crushed
  • 1/3 lb Black Patent malt crushed
  • 1/3 lb Roasted Barley
  • 1 oz Chinook hops (Bittering)
  • 1 oz Willamette hops (Finshing)
  • 1cup Black Strap Molasses
  • 1 cup Clover Honey
  • 1 1/4 cup light DME (bottling)
  • 1 package Ale yeast
Preparation
Add 2 gallons of cold water to brew pot. Put grains in bag and place in pot. As soon water boils remove grains. Remove from heat and add extract, molasses and honey. Bring to boil. When boil begins add bittering hops. Boil 50 minutes and add finishing hops. Remove from heat chill wort to 70 raise level to 5 gallons and pitch yeast. Aereate well.

Great tasting stout beer. This is the best beer I ever brewed.

I am curious, it says to aereate this one well, wouldn't that oxidize the brew?<br>

Only if you aerate after fermentation has begun.
